I'm Pete Miller.
Like many families, my wife Sharon and I believed we were being careful.
Then we became victims of a sophisticated scam that changed our lives.
We lost a significant amount of money, but we refused to let that experience define us.
Instead, we chose to let it guide us.
That's why I created Scam-Proof Senior.
My mission is simple:
To help older adults stay safe, confident, and independent online through practical lessons written in plain English.
I'm not a computer engineer.
I'm not a technology company.
I'm your neighbor.
I'm a veteran.
I'm a husband, a father, and a grandfather.

SPOT THE WARNING SIGNS. THEN KEEP THE FULL CHECKLIST HANDY.
🚩 They create urgency — "Act NOW or lose your account!"
🚩 They ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or crypto
🚩 They claim to be Medicare, Social Security, or the IRS

No. If you can read an email, click a link, or use a website, you can do this. Everything is explained step by step in plain English, with no computer jargon. If you can use this website, you already have everything you need.

Not at all. I’m based in Sun City, Arizona, but scams don’t stop at state lines. The same tactics are used against seniors across the country. Whether you live in Arizona, Florida, or anywhere else, these lessons can help you recognize scams and protect yourself.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCAM WEBSITES?
Most scam-safety websites give you information. I try to make that information personal, practical, and easy to use. I’m Pete Miller, a retired veteran and fellow senior. I explain things in plain English, one step at a time, and I personally answer questions. No jargon. No runaround. Just practical help from someone who understands.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING?
No. The safety checklist and scam-alert emails are free. I also offer the Senior Safety Toolkit and Full Course for people who want more help, but those are completely optional. There are no surprise charges, and you’ll always know what something costs before you choose to buy it.
