About Pete
Sun City, AZ
Hi, I am Pete Miller.
I know exactly how it feels to be targeted by a scammer. Several years ago my wife Sharon and I lost a significant amount of money to a fraudster posing as a legitimate financial representative. Nobody stepped in to help us. Nobody warned us in plain language what to look for.
That experience is why I built Scam-Proof Senior. I wanted to create the resource that nobody gave us — simple, honest, plain-spoken help for seniors who want to stay safer online and feel more confident using technology.
I am not a tech company. I am a retired senior in Sun City, Arizona who has been exactly where you are. And I am here to help.
Out in the Community
Real conversations with real people around Sun City.
I don't just write about scams from behind a desk. I show up at libraries, community centers, and senior groups around Sun City to talk with people face to face, because that is where trust gets built and scams get stopped.
Scam Warning Signs
If you see any of these — stop and call someone you trust.
🚩 They create urgency — "Act NOW or lose your account!"
🚩 They ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or crypto
🚩 They claim to be Medicare, Social Security, or the IRS
🚩 They ask for remote access to your computer
🚩 The email address doesn't match the company name
Every week I send one short email with: the scam going around Arizona right now, one tip to stay safe, and one thing you can do on your computer with more confidence. No spam. No selling. Just help.

What Seniors Are Saying
"Reviewed your website — love it! The layout walks you through everything very easily. Clear to follow and understand, which helps you remember what to do. Pulls your attention in with the highlighted headings. This is a great site, very much needed. This site will help everyone to easily feel safe and clearly know what to do. Fantastic!"

"I was scared to open my email after getting scammed. Pete explained everything in plain English and now I actually feel safe online."
Peoria, AZ
"What I appreciate most is that Pete actually answers his email. I sent him a question about a phone call I'd received, and he got back to me within a few hours. That doesn't happen anymore."
Surprise, AZ
"I'm not very computer-savvy, but I had no trouble reading Pete's guide. It's written like he's sitting across the table from you. I printed it out and put it on my refrigerator."
"My daughter was always warning me about scams but I didn't know what she was talking about. Now I do. I forwarded Pete's emails to my whole card club. Every one of us learned something new."
"Pete's a veteran and it shows. He's direct, he's honest, and he doesn't waste your time. Signed up for the free guide and I'm still getting good information every week. No nonsense."
"Got Questions?"
"Pete answers every one of these himself."
Nope. If you can read an email and click a link, you're in. I'm not a tech expert either — I learned everything the hard way. This guide is written in plain English, no computer jargon, no confusing terms. If your grandkids can get you to this website, you already have everything you need.
Right after you sign up, you'll get a confirmation email with your free cheat sheet — "5 Red Flags Every Senior Should Know." In the days that follow, I'll send you a short series of emails covering the scams that are hitting seniors hardest right now. No spam. No sales pressure. Just straight information you can actually use. You can unsubscribe any time with one click.
Email me directly at pete@scamproofaz.com. I read every message myself — no assistants, no call centers. I'm a fellow senior living in Sun City, Arizona, and I know what it's like to have a question and get the runaround. I do my best to reply the same day.
Yes. I will never sell your name, your email, or any information you share with me. Period. I built Scam-Proof Senior because I'm tired of seniors being taken advantage of — I'm certainly not going to do it myself. Your information stays with me and is used only to send you the guide and follow-up tips you signed up for.
Not at all. Scams don't stop at state lines. The tactics I write about target seniors all across the country. Whether you're in Phoenix, Florida, or anywhere in between, the information applies to you.
Most scam-awareness sites are run by organizations — government agencies, nonprofits, law firms. They're helpful, but they're not personal. I'm Pete Miller, a retired veteran and fellow senior. I've seen these scams up close, and I write the way I talk — straight and to the point. No legalese. No bureaucracy. Just one neighbor looking out for another.
The guide is free. The emails are free. Right now, everything on Scam-Proof Senior is free. If I ever offer something with a cost attached, I'll be upfront about it — you'll never be surprised by a charge
"No call centers. No runaround. Pete reads every email himself and responds the same day."
